Our Team
Keenan Johnson is an Attorney-at-Law with more than 15 years’ experience advising on corporate and commercial law, financial services, employment law, labour relations, governance, regulatory matters, public-sector advisory, and development related matters. He has been called to the Bars of England & Wales and The Bahamas and holds an LL.B. from Cardiff University, the Bar Vocational Course, and an LL.M. in Professional Legal Practice with Distinction from BPP Law School.
Keenan began his legal career in private practice, advising on corporate and commercial matters, conveyancing, mortgages, labour disputes and trust and estate planning matters in The Bahamas and Canada. He later held senior legal and management roles within the financial services sector, advising on corporate, commercial, trust, regulatory, governance, and business related matters affecting entities in The Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. His experience also includes an international secondment in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he advised on funds and trading agreements and supported governance and control related initiatives.
Keenan has significant labour and employment experience, including advising on contentious employee relations matters across English speaking Caribbean jurisdictions, mediating employment disputes, and liaising with unions in unionised environments. From 2022 to 2026, he also served as Legal Consultant to the Ministry of Labour and Public Service, where he advised on labour and employment related matters, assisted with union negotiations, and served as a key stakeholder in the preparation of the draft new Employment Bill.
He also brings practical development related experience through his service as Chairman of the Town Planning Committee within the Ministry of Works. In that role, he gained insight into planning, land use, development control, public administration, and the regulatory and stakeholder considerations affecting development projects in The Bahamas.
Keenan is also actively involved in legal education and professional development. He served as Course Director and Professional Development Programme Coordinator at the Eugene Dupuch Law School and previously served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of The Bahamas, teaching Company Law and Corporate Governance.
His wider leadership and public service experience includes former service as Director of the Eleuthera Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Bahamas Development Bank, and involvement in civic and community organisations.
